Built during the prosperous Porfiriato era (1876-1911) by Don Aurelio Portuondo y Barceló, a prominent Cuban entrepreneur, this house is a testament to the wealth and style of its time.
A unique venue in the heart of Mérida for your wedding!

Located on the beautiful Paseo de Montejo avenue, you are immediately drawn to its architectural style and the history the building tells.

At the back of the mansion, there is a beautiful covered event space with a retractable roof. A beautiful and functional venue, perfect for a wedding, birthday, or corporate event.

You will also find at the back of the Mansion a square that has won two Architecture awards. I recommend visiting at night to fully enjoy the lighting and the calm, luxurious atmosphere of the place.

And finally, I am pleased to present the Restaurant (Avelino & María) and its Cafetería Dos Encuentros.

Histoire
The Quinta is a worthy representative of a significant era in the history of Yucatán, and the current owner has always shown a strong interest in giving the public the opportunity to visit it.
Thus, within the family, the idea arose to open it as a house-museum.
The goal was to present it as a "living house," still inhabited but open to visitors. Through its architecture and the furniture it preserves, it allows one to step back into the customs and lifestyle of the grand homes in Mérida during the henequen boom.
In early 2006, some trials were conducted with tourists, guided by María Eugenia, one of the owner's daughters. Then, in April, the doors of Casa-Museo Montes Molina officially opened to the public.
By mid-2012, a new space was created in the basement salons of La Quinta: La Tienda Montes Molina, a shop filled with souvenirs from La Quinta and Yucatecan crafts.
Today, La Quinta Montes Molina shines on Paseo de Montejo as a museum that remains a living house, not to mention its restaurant Avelino & María and the beautiful Cafetería Dos Encuentros, located inside the restaurant.
An historical mansion that has transcended time and integrated harmoniously with the present-day Mérida.
